With the explosion of mixed martial arts there are many clubs popping up these days. SO if you want to train in MMA which is the best place for you to train at?
I have compiled the top 5 mixed martial arts clubs in the world.
Minnesota Martial Arts Academy was founded in 1992 by Greg Nelson, a former NCAA Division 1 町田 ダンススクール wrestler at the University of Minnesota. Greg Nelson has combined his background in wrestling with Thai-boxing and jujitsu to form the basis of MMA.
His academy has a winning percentage of 80 percent and has some of the biggest and strongest fighters in MMA today. He has made Brock Lesnar to the champion he is today.
The forth best club is the American Kickboxing Academy. American Kickboxing Academy is a martial arts gym located in San Jose, California. The club was founded in the mid 80’s by Javier Mendez. Mendez brought in Dave Camarillo, Bob Cook, Derek Yuen, Lynn Schultz, and Ted Lucio.
The group has some of the best fighters in the UFC and has taken mostly wrestlers into great MMA fighters like Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck, Mike Swick and Cain Velasquez
Coming in third spot is the Brazilian club Black House. Black House was started by former Brazilian Top Team members and black belts Carlos Barreto, Jorge Guimaraes and Rogerio Camoes. Guimaraes acted as the team’s manager and Camoes was in charge of the team’s training.
They have many champions training there that include the Nogueira brothers, Anderson Silva, Jose Also, Lyoto Machida and Junior dos Santos.
The second best MMA club is American Top Team which is a spinoff of Brazilian Top Team who was founded in April 2000 by Murilo Bustamante, Ricardo Librio, Mrio Sperry and Luis Roberto Duarte, former-members of the Carlson Gracie Academy which developed new training techniques for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, submission wrestling and mixed martial arts.
There is little doubt as which club is number one. Jackson Fighting Submission run by Greg Jackson is the best trainer in MAM toady and was voted World MMA Awards for “Best Coach” and “Best Gym” in 2009.
Jackson uses a holistic approach to training. He works on mental images and how to meditate and mental prepare for the fight with proper breathing techniques to mentally and has a 81 percent winning percentage. They have such fighters as Georges St-Pierre, Rashad Evans, Nate Marquardt, Diego Sanchez and Kenny Florian.
