As the publisher of a blog on SEO writing, one of the questions I field a lot is earning potential, ie, new/aspiring freelancers wanting to know, “Just how much can a new SEO writer make?” This depends on several factors, four of which will be discussed here.

What’s in a fashion marketing campaign?

This article explores the components of a fashion marketing plan and how fashion brands can enhance their marketing strategy. Fashion marketing is concerned with meeting the needs, wants, and demands of your targeted consumer, and these goals are accomplished using the marketing mix.

Fashion marketing is distinct from fashion public relations in that fashion PR is solely concerned with communications and how the brand communicates with and resonates with it’s targeted consumers.

A fashion marketing plan focuses on four essential concepts: 1) product development, 2) eyelsh distribution management, 3) communications, and 4) cost. In order to implement an effective marketing campaign, the marketing mix must be consumer centric and focused on niche markets rather than catering to mass markets. This concept simply means that the marketing strategy and implementation should have consumers and their needs, wants, and demands in the forefront and with a very defined market that it intends to target.

Niche marketing is more focused and cost-effective and allows the marketer to focus on a particular market segment. Otherwise, a mass marketing campaign is all over the place and lacks a defined consumer to market to.

As an example, imagine if the luxury brand Louis Vuitton was a mass retailer and did not cater to a niche market. Essentially, this would mean that Louis Vuitton would market its products to the masses, when in fact this is unrealistic. Louis Vuittton’s price point does not allow the brand to cater to the masses, which is why the brand channels all of its marketing communications to the luxury market. However, that does not mean that the brand is off limits to consumers who do not exactly fall into the luxury market; it just means that the communications strategy and the brand identity would resonate more with consumers in the luxury market. This approach allows the business to remain competitive and effective in its strategic approach.

Components of a Fashion Marketing Plan

1) Product Development

The most important component of the product development phase is not the product itself. The product is just the byproduct of this phase. The most important component of this phase are the consumers. Consumers dictate all the components of the marketing plan, and consequently, dictates what the product is. Keep in mind that today’s highly competitive global marketplace requires that businesses are consumer centric and focus on serving consumer’s needs. Consumers dictate what the pricing strategy will be, the points of distribution, the communications strategy, and the final product outcome. In the example given above regarding Louis Vuitton, the targeted consumers dictate what the associated cost and value will be for the brand.

There are two orientations of the product development phase. The business can be product-oriented and choose to develop products first then market it to its targeted markets. Alternatively, the business can be more market-oriented and segment its markets first to determine their specific needs, wants, and demands then create the product to meet those wants.

Due to the transient nature of the fashion industry, fashion marketers are under short marketing cycles since product needs are seasonal. As the seasons change so do trends and tastes. Consequently, marketers are required to constantly adjust their product offerings with time.

2) Price: Cost vs Value

The pricing strategy strictly relies on the market segmentation. With a consumer centric marketing focus, the pricing strategy would take into account the associated costs to the consumer and the value afforded to the consumer. Pricing may vary based on the market segment and their perceived value of the product or brand. A consumer buying a luxury brand perceives the product to be more valuable and in turn is willing to pay more for the product compared to a price-sensitive consumer or a product that is mass produced with minimal differentiation.

3) Distribution Management

The distribution strategy determines the convenience and availability of the product. Traditional distribution channels for fashion brands include branded flagship stores, independent retailers, department stores, and online distribution. The more distribution channels used the more intense the brand’s exposure and the greater the availability to consumer markets.

4) Promotions & Communications

The promotional strategy entails how the brand will attract its buyers and the series of activities used to communicate to the targeted consumers. The activities in this phase include developing the brand and its identity, sales promotions, public relations, product placement, advertising, event marketing, and sponsorships.

Yoga – What Should I Look For in a Yoga Mat?

At my first yoga practice, I borrowed a mat that my studio had on hand. I quickly realized I needed a mat of my own. The borrowed mat was too thin, not long enough for my height, and covered in somebody else’s sweat! Being a total novice, I headed to the local discount store and bought the first mat that caught my eye. Having, at the time, more money than common sense, I ended up buying several more mats in the search for the one that was really right for me. From experience, I know that when you look for the perfect yoga mat, you should consider 5 factors: size/shape, thickness and weight, composition, aesthetics, and price. If you take the time to carefully think through these factors, you will be happier with your choice, enjoy your yoga practices more, and maybe even save money.

Size/shape: As your instructor will probably tell you, quicksearchs.in/database-companies-in-bangalore your mat is your universe. Too small, you may be uncomfortable; too big, you may crowd other students. “Standard” yoga mats are rectangular in shape, approximately 24″ by 68″. For people of average weight and height, this size and shape will likely serve well. It will give you just enough horizontal space to do seated poses and twists and enough length so that vinyasas and supine poses don’t have you hanging off the back. If, however, you are carrying a little extra weight or you are tall (say 5’10 or over) you may want to consider getting an extra long mat to give you extra space to move forward and back and to stretch out. Or, you may want to take the leap of getting a round mat, like the Mandala 6′ Round, which gives you more room to stretch out in all of your poses. I take a long mat to class but use a round mat at home. Long, rectangular mats can easily be accommodated at the studio, but the round mat (unless everyone in the class uses one) just disrupts the arrangement of the other mats in the class. So if you take one to the studio and you’re the only one using a round mat, be prepared for some disgruntled stares from classmates and maybe your instructor.

Thickness: A yoga mat’s purpose is to provide you with a non-slip surface and to cushion your knees, hips, and other parts that come into contact with the floor. Mats at the yoga studio and less expensive mats are likely to be 1/8″ thick, perhaps slightly more. This minimal thickness is fine if you have no sensitivity in your knees during camel pose, in your hips during supine twists, in your elbows during sphinx, or in your wrists in down dog pose. But if you do have that sensitivity, a thicker mat may be best for you. Many mats advertised as “thick” are only 1/4″ thick. In fact, Manduka’s Black Mat, considered the Cadillac in thick mats, is 1/4″ thick. However, other mats, like premium mats made by Jade, are up to 5mm thick or more and just that little extra padding can make a difference in how you feel. One more thing to think about with thick mats, the thicker the mat, the heavier it is likely to be, which can be a drawback if you are toting it around from class to home and back.

Composition: Yoga mats are made of various different materials. Older mats and cheaper mats may be made of latex, PVC, or a plastic blend. You may be allergic or sensitive to some of these materials, and they are hazardous to the environment. Newer mats are made of a composite, microfiber, or hydrogen based foam that does not contain latex and are more “eco-friendly.” Mats also may be made of natural, more environmentally conscious materials like cotton, bamboo, jute, hemp, or natural rubber. Even though yoga mats are called “sticky mats” and are intended to keep you from slipping around since you practice in your bare feet, once you start to perspire the mat can get slippery. With most mats, you’ll need a yoga towel to absorb sweat and keep you from sliding around in a power, Bikram, or ashtanga class. Cotton type mats will indeed soak up sweat but they provide less cushion when damp and have to be laundered to keep them from smelling bad. Natural rubber mats are less slippery even when wet and easily cleaned; I tried the Harmony mat by Jade and even though I sweat quite a bit, I got by with just a hand towel and stayed put even in the last down dog of my practice.

Aesthetics: One of the teachings of yoga is to give up worldly, sensory pursuits that distract from practice. But most of us still want to look good and be in pleasant surroundings when doing our poses. If this is you, stop and think about whether a plain black mat (even if it’s long and thick and made of natural materials) will satisfy your sensual side. Even a lavender or teal colored mat can become boring to look at after a while. By far, Gaiam makes the most decorated yoga mats with names like Damask, Tie Dye, Flower Power, and Dragon Fly Hydrangea. Only you will know if the patterned decor is worth any sacrifice you might have to make with respect to the other features you need or want.

Price: Prices for yoga mats vary widely. You can get a cheap, “plain Jane” yoga mat on the internet for about eight bucks. If you are just trying yoga and don’t want to make a commitment, this might do. But if you are serious about practicing, expect to pay a little more. Generally, thicker natural material mats will be more expensive. Gaiam’s mats run from about $20 to about $40. Manduka’s black mat pro will set you back close to $100 and the Eko natural rubber mat is about $80. YogaAccessories makes a natural rubber mat in 5/16″ thickness for about $45 while the same thickness natural rubber mat from Jade is about $80. Madala’s 6ft Round Mat will cost you approximately $65. Prices change and sales do happen, so check around and compare prices. Check with your yoga studio too; they may have the mat you are looking for and might be able to meet a price you’ve found elsewhere.

Which mat is right for you depends on the size/shape of the mat, how thick and heavy it is, what it is made of, what it looks like, and how much it costs. You also may decide that you need more than one mat, especially if you practice at home as well as at the studio. In any event, if you take the time to carefully consider these factors, you will be happier with your choices, enjoy your yoga practices more, and maybe even save money.

Performance: How Do Brushed and Brushless Motors Measure Up?

As aforementioned, the nature of a brush motor creates friction and drag within the motor. This wastes precious, precious energy. Maintenance
Although a properly used power tool with a brushed motor will give you many, many hours of work before the brushes need replacing, the fact is, every time you run a brushed motor, the brushes wear down. They wear down consistently and will eventually require replacement. Additionally, worn brushes can force the motor’s other components to work harder during use; this creates more heat and more wear. – Still, brushed motors are tough and reliable and the pair of brushes in a standard, brush-motored cordless tool may last years before replacement is necessary.

Conversely, and by virtue of being brushless and featuring slightly different components, a brushless tool motor will likely require less overall maintenance. Brushless motor’s also tend to run cooler and produce less noise during operation. On another hand, though, while replacing brushes is a simple and inexpensive repair, if your brushless motor requires maintenance, it will likely be a more complex fix and will be more expensive.

At this stage in the game, brushless motors are expensive to produce and because the demand for these tools isn’t yet comparable to that of brush motor power tools, their production price remains high. If manufacturers need to produce more of these tools, the price to fabricate them will lower and the final price to consumers should follow suit.

Bottom Line: Are Power Tools With Brushless Motors Really Worth All the Hype?
Are these more complex, more expensive motors really all they’re cracked up to be? The short answer is: probably; but it mostly depends on how you use your power tools. If you use a tool only a few times each year or if you are a strictly light-duty user, you probably don’t need to upgrade to brushless technology. If you use your tools often or vigorously, though, I think you’ll genuinely appreciate the difference.

Ultimately, the hype is appropriate and brushless motor technology is a really exciting step in the evolution of power tools. The New York City Taxi Medallion is an interesting form of property. It represents a transferable right granted by the City to pick up passengers, but through regulation the dollar value of this right is now nearing a million. There are different types of “Medallions”. The individual, the corporate or fleet medallion, and the Handicap Access Medallion.

The individual medallion requires the owner (post 1990), to operate the yellow taxicab 210 nine-hour shifts per year. This underlying requirement guarantees the availability of taxi transportation. It is not unusual for two taxi drivers to form partnerships and share the medallion, or for an individual owner to lease out the taxi for the shifts he is not working.

The corporate or fleet medallion does not need to be operated by the owner. In fact, the owner need not have a NYC Taxi operator’s license at all. The fleet medallion can be leased, and often is on a shift-by-shift basis, twice per day, for as much as $140 per twelve hour rental.

There is a network of brokers and agents who manage and lease taxicabs and medallions to independent taxi drivers under daily, weekly, and long-term arrangements for investors.

As an investment, the most interesting aspect of the New York City Taxi Medallion is the anti-cyclical valuations. In2009, as the US and world economies are shrinking, medallion value is soaring.

When banks and stock brokerages, construction companies and retailers lay off workers, one of the first places the unemployed workers seek income is in the taxi industry. So, as the general economy suffers the number of available taxi cabs shrinks as more people seek them and those already working are forced to work more shifts as competition for fares increases.

There are a limited number of medallions. Currently just over 13,200. This number was constant at 11,787 for more than sixty years when in the 1990’s then Mayor Rudolph Giuliani approved NY City Taxi & Limousine Commissioner Christopher Lynn to conduct three auctions, selling four hundred medallions.

The sales netted the City approximately one hundred-million dollars. The politics behind the sales was very intense and telling, as shortly after the sales were completed the industry applied for and received a rate of fare increase. After a few short years another proposal for new medallion auctions was approved by Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The successive medallion sales created slightly more than one thousand-forty new medallions. During these auctions the Handicap Access Medallion was introduced at a substantial discount to regular market prices. This was to entice owners to pay the extremely high price of retrofitting vehicles with automatic ramps to accommodate wheelchairs. They were all sold, and on a percentage basis have risen in value more than other medallions.

Moving on, let’s continue in Genesis and look at Sarah or Sarai, Abram’s wife ‘cos maybe she was Jewish:

Genesis 11:29 (KJV) And Abram and Nahor (Abram’s brother) took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. (Brackets mine)

Abram took Sarai (Sarah) to be his wife before he left Ur of the Chaldees, to live in Canaan. Sarai (Sarah) was his half sister so she had to be a Hebrew speaking Chaldean too – no Jews in this arrangement then. So this must mean that Isaac wasn’t a Jew either as both his parents were Hebrew speaking Chaldeans, and not Jews.

So if Isaac wasn’t a Jew then Isaac must have made Jacob a Jew through the woman he married. No such luck I’m afraid for all of you who think Jacob was a Jew. Abraham’s servant was given very specific instructions by Abraham on the bloodline of the girl Isaac was to marry and the Bible is very thorough in the detailed account of this crucial piece of history.
